It is with sadness that we report the passing of a great supporter of CBTA, Mrs Dot Hopkins.  Dot, wife of Life Member Ray Hopkins of Picnic Point,  will be buried on Friday 28 July at 2.30pm.  South Chapel, Rookwood Cemetary.  We express our heartfelt sympathy to Ray and family on the passing of their beloved Dot.

Visitors to Panania may have noticed the extensive renovations that CBTA has undertaken over the past few years - painting, new outside sinks, some new lighting and now, 2 new re-surfaced courts, numbers 3 and 6.  To celebrate, CBTA committee invite all users of the centre to come on down and join in a light lunch - 12 noon, Saturday 19th August.  For catering, please RSVP to enq@cbta.com.au  (adele)  Details here

Monday Elite Singles at Panania   A little known competition at Panania Tennis Centre is the rapidly growing Money Tennis. True to its name, this not-for-profit competition gives back around $300 every week to its highly motivated and talented participants. As an exclusively singles competition largely comprised of open men players but also open to females, the competition responds to the various needs of the modern era player. Costing only $20 to play, players can opt in or out each week and are hence never tied down to a commitment. They get three full sets of singles conducted in the USATP compass format across 2-3hrs. The competition commenced around three months ago and jumped from 8 players in the first week to around 50 players a mere four weeks later. For more information, joining opportunities and player rankings and highlight videos, head to www.moneytennis.com
